India’s cyber security agency, CERT-IN, has issued a high-alert for users of the desktop version of Google Chrome. Google Chrome’s growing security problem has prompted the government to advise users to update their browser immediately to stay safe.
According to CERT-IN, multiple vulnerabilities exist in the Windows and Mac versions of Google Chrome that could later allow users to take control of the system or crash it.

According to CERT-IN, these errors mentioned in Google Chrome are primarily caused by the following issues:
• Object corruption in V8 and WebAssembly: This can lead to unexpected code execution.
• Using V8, QUIC, and Download Free: May result in data leaks, crashes, or code execution.
• Autofill, Extensions, Network: This can lead to potential data leaks or unexpected behavior.
• Data Corruption: This can lead to data corruption or deliberate code editing.
• Site Isolation and Inadequate Policy Enforcement in WebUI: This can lead to security breaches.
• Insufficient data allowance in browser switchers and downloads: This may allow malicious data to bypass security.
What are the risks?
Remote code execution: Scammers can exploit these vulnerabilities to take complete control of a computer. It can steal data, install malware or damage our system
Denial-of-Service (DoS): Scammers can crash the Chrome browser or even our entire computer.
How to stay safe
– Google Chrome Update: The most important step is to update Google Chrome to the latest version. Google has already released fixes and updates, Chrome can be updated by following these steps:
• First open Chrome.
• Click on the three dots at the top right of the window.
• Click on “Settings”.
• Click on “About Chrome”.
• Chrome will automatically check for and install updates.
Also don’t click on any suspicious links: Phishing e-mails and messages often contain links that may lead to malicious websites. Avoid clicking on any links in e-mails or messages from unknown senders.
