Laughter exercise is known to many. World Laughter Day started from there. However, according to several media sources, an Indian doctor was behind this day. His name is Madan Kataria. He was the first to plan this day.
Madan Kataria, a family doctor by profession, used to advise his patients to practice laughing regularly. Because laughter plays a major role in preventing several diseases. From there came the idea of a World Day for Laughter. This idea was conceived in 1998. Since then World Laughter Day is celebrated every year on the first Sunday of May. Currently Laughter Yoga is a famous exercise in more than 115 countries of the world.
What are the benefits of daily laughter?
There are many benefits of smiling regularly. Benefits the body as well as the mind.
- Laughter is the best way to overcome depression. If you smile regularly every day, your mind will be good even for a while.
- It also plays a major role in lowering blood pressure. Regular smiling does not prevent high blood pressure.
- Working all day puts a lot of stress on the mind and body. Laughter helps relieve this stress. The greatest cure for stress is a hearty smile.
- Regular smiling keeps the blood flowing in the body. Metabolism is also improved if the blood flow is good.
- Laughter also helps burn calories. Laughing for 10 to 15 minutes every day can burn 40 calories. Even if the amount is small, the other benefits of laughter are very beneficial.
