Bharti Group-owned company Oneweb is expected to launch satellite-based high-speed broadband services in India soon. Let’s say, for this, the company joined hands with Indian Space Research Organization ISRO’s commercial partner, NSIL i.e. Newspace India Limited, a few days ago. It was reported that Oneweb, in partnership with ISRO, will send several satellites to low-Earth orbit. With this, the organization will be very successful in meeting the target of installing 648 artificial satellites in low-Earth orbit, which is very important for providing satellite-based high-speed broadband services. Meanwhile, ISRO launched 36 satellites for Oneweb early yesterday. As a result, it goes without saying that the citizens of Apam will definitely be able to get Oneweb’s satellite based internet services in the near future.
ISRO will launch a total of 72 satellites for Oneweb
Incidentally, OneWeb is a global connection network, which will be operated by a group of 648 Low-Earth Orbit or LEO (LEO) satellites, according to the organization. In that case, ISRO and OneWeb have teamed up to meet the target of installing 648 artificial satellites in low-Earth orbit. Note that ISRO’s commercial arm Newspace India Limited has signed 2 service contracts with OneWeb to launch broadband communication satellites in low-Earth orbit. Under the agreement, ISRO will conduct two launches for OneWeb, which will deploy a total of 72 satellites in the company’s constellation. These satellites will help complete OneWeb’s constellation, enabling Indians to access the company’s satellite-based Internet services.
Oneweb will pay Rs 2,000 crore to ISRO for launching 72 satellites
Let’s say that about 10% of the satellites for OneWeb will be launched by ISRO, said Bharti Global Managing Director Shravin Mittal (Shravin Mittal). In that case, I have already said that ISRO will launch a total of 72 satellites for Oneweb, of which 36 have already been sent into space last Sunday. And an IANS report said that OneWeb will use ISRO’s LVM3 rocket to launch 36 more satellites in January 2023. It is to be noted that the Bharti Group-owned company is said to pay Rs 2,000 crore to ISRO for launching a total of 72 satellites. Of this, 1,000 crore rupees have already been deposited in the ISRO sector for the launch of 36 satellites last Sunday, and OneWeb will pay the remaining amount to the Indian Space Research Organization only if it completes the launch of 36 more satellites in January next year.
Oneweb’s satellite based internet service may be available in this country very soon
Incidentally, Oneweb is going to partner with the French satellite company Eutelsat Communications (Eutelsat Communications) in April or May 2023 to further their business activities. It should be noted that at the moment more than 462 satellites from Oneweb have already reached LEO. That is, 70 percent of the Bharti Group-owned company’s target of launching 648 satellites into low-Earth orbit has already been completed. In that case, it can be assumed that it will not take much time for the launch of the company’s satellite-based internet service in India. According to experts, this service can be used for various purposes. This connectivity will primarily help telecom companies expand their terrestrial networks, along with data analytics for agriculture, forestry and mineral resources.
