This is India’s third largest lunar mission
Chandrayaan-3 is ISRO’s third major lunar mission. ISRO’s Chandrayaan-2 mission launched in 2019 failed during landing. Many changes have been made in the new mission to ensure that such problems do not occur again. But this too will be done in three separate phases.
The Chandrayaan-3 mission has three main components including the lander, rover and propulsion model. It will use the orbiter sent with the Chandrayaan-2 mission, which is still in lunar orbit. The purpose of the new mission is to support studies and research related to the lunar surface. After the success of this mission ISRO will plan to send man to moon.
