Bad news came in the middle of IPL. Legendary cricketer Derek Underwood passed away. He was the best left-arm spinner in England cricket history. The former England cricketer breathed his last at the age of 78.
Derek Underwood made his first-class cricket debut in 1963. He started playing for Kent at the age of 17. Underwood never played for any other Crab in his long cricket career. Played more than 900 matches for Kent. He took 2523 wickets. Underwood played for Kent from 1963 to 1987. Which is a record in British club history.
Apart from club cricket, Derek Underwood is equally successful in international cricket. He wore the England jersey for the first time in 1966. The left-arm spinner has played 86 Tests for England and has taken 297 wickets and 32 wickets in 26 ODIs.
