Maruti Suzuki is all set to launch a new model in the Indian market, the new hybrid version of the highly popular models Swift and Dzire. The hybrid version of the Swift and Dzire will have a 1.2-litre petrol hybrid system, delivering a mileage of 35-40 kmpl. The 1.2 liter petrol engine will be 3 cylinder. The engine will be equipped with Toyota’s Strong Hybrid technology, which was recently seen in the Maruti Grand Vitara.
Both Toyota and Maruti Suzuki use this powerful hybrid system in their Hyryder and Grand Vitara. Suzuki has focused on making the hybrid technology more affordable with local materials, so as to keep the cost of the technology to a minimum in the vehicle. The price of the strong hybrid version can be around 1 to 1.5 lakh more than the petrol car.
It is believed that this new hybrid model of Swift and Dzire is going to be the most fuel efficient car in the market. According to sources, these cars can give a mileage of 40 km. The current models of these two cars give a mileage of around 28 km. This new model will come to compete in the Indian market in early 2024.
Maruti Swift and Dzire are both very popular cars. Swift sold a total of 17,231 units in the month of October, which is 88 percent more than October last year. The Swift is currently priced at Rs 5.92 lakh and the Dzire is priced at Rs 6.24 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). However, the Strong Hybrid version will cost more.
