In fact, it will be possible to pay with this ring instead of a credit or debit card. This ring uses RFID technology to capture the user’s credit or debit card data in a smartphone app.
This ring from McLear is like alluring jewelry. It is possible to make according to your choice and size. Then it can be worn on any finger. A purchase can be made by touching the ring at a POS while paying.
But what if someone in the crowd touches the wireless POS and grabs the money?
To avoid this type of fraud, techniques have been adopted where the ring user has to make a special hand gesture while paying. If that posture is not correct, the transaction will not take place.
This ring is not yet available in India. However, if a UK resident has already linked an active RingPay to their VISA or MasterCard, they can easily transact in India.
McLear’s Chief Operating Officer Daniel Blondell said in an interview to News18, ‘Transcorp is McLear’s partner in India. Indians can therefore pick up a RuPay version of this ring. It will work seamlessly in India.’ According to sources, Transcorp has already partnered with Junio App and RuPay. This ring does not require charging. Cashback will be available. There will also be the facility of instant device lock. Blondell said that if the ring is somehow lost or misplaced, it can be deactivated from the smartphone app.

This ring is made of pure zirconia ceramic. There is no possibility of cracking in it. “There is no problem with daily use,” says Blondel. will not break It has water resistance. It also contains hypoallergenic ingredients. So there will be no irritation on the skin.’

Blondel said they have been working with the National Payments Corporation of India or NPCI for the past five years. They also attended the Indian Fintech festival last year. It was there that announced the launch of this ring first in India with NPCI and Transcorp.
