FOG India Day Parade and Fair 2024 : The 32nd Festival of the Globe (FOG) India Day Parade and Fair was held on August 17-18 in Fremont, California. This festival emerged as a great event of the confluence of Indian culture and American dream. Let us tell you that this prestigious event organized by the Federation of the Globe (FOG) and the Federation of Indo Americans (FIA) of Northern California, celebrates India’s Independence Day and has been an important part of the cultural heritage of India and America for 31 years.
This year, more than 10 thousand people attended the FOG India Day Parade and Fair. This mega event showcased the tourism and culture of different states of India through cultural programs, free wellness fair, grand food fest, exciting activities for children and a spectacular parade. Famous Bollywood actress Manisha Koirala graced this year’s celebrations as the Grand Marshal. Manisha Koirala, whose unique art has given her international recognition, has also recently played an important role in the web series ‘Heeramandi’.
The India Day Fair featured excellent dance and music performances, with over 250 local dance groups showcasing their art in categories such as classical, folk, Bollywood, contemporary and hip-hop. The fair also featured delicious cuisine from different regions of India, served by leading restaurants and caterers from Silicon Valley. Visitors to the fair had the opportunity to enjoy Indian culture, taste delicious food and shop at over 100 booths.
The FOG India Day Grand Parade, held on August 18 from 11 am to 1 pm, brought together over 90 groups and organizations that represent diverse aspects of Indian and American culture. The parade on the streets of Fremont was a wonderful spectacle of grandeur and cultural diversity, making Sunday a memorable day for all.
The FOG India Day Parade and Fair not only provides an opportunity to celebrate India’s Independence Day but also serves as an inspiring platform for the Indian-American community to stay connected to their roots and achieve the American dream.
